DynaVox Repairs: Cleaning policy

At Dynavox UK, we strive to offer our customers the best service that we can.
In line with this, we have identified a potential risk of cross infection when receiving devices in for repair / back from loan.
On numerous occasions we have opened packages that have unidentified fluid or foreign matter on both the outside and inside of the product.
To negate the risk and protect both customers and the associates at Dynavox, we have installed an updated  procedure and working practice for the repair of dirty devices.
We feel that although we will do our best to reduce the inherent risk, that our customers should be aware of their responsibilities when returning products. To send through a third party, packages, that may have been contaminated by any communicable disease, could have legal implications. 
 
Below, are some points that our customers may find of value.
1.) When returning the device, is it really necessary to return the carry case / accessories ?
2.) If the user has a infectious illness, the device MUST be labeled as such.
3.) Do not pour water or detergent over the product, definitely do not immerse in water!
4.) The outside of the device should be cleaned with an alcohol based wipe/ cleaner (see link below).

As part of this updated policy, if a device is received that is very dirty or is suspected of being contaminated, then there may be an additional charge levied for the cleaning / de-contamination of the product which will not be covered by any extended warranty or repair labour cost.
